High-end fashion label HugoBoss plans to open about 60 new stores in China's mainland over the next three years, just as growth in the country's luxury sector seems to be cooling off.
In Germany the second most visited place by Chinese tourists after Berlin is Metzingen, a small town in the Black Forest unknown to most Germans, but home to a giant HugoBoss discount store since joined by another 20-odd factory outlets for designer labels.
The company bought businesses such as HugoBoss, originally a German menswear firm, and signed deals with blue-chip Italian designers such as Gianfranco Ferre.
