委托存款亦称“特约信托存款”。委托人指定资金用途的信托资金。相对于“普通信托存款”。如企业或个人因委托信托机构投资或委托贷款，而事先交存信托机构的保证金; 因办事捐赠信托、抚恤信托、赡养信托、保险信托等有特定目的的信托，而存入信托机构的资金。对委托存款，受托人必须按委托人指定用途使用，但不负责资金运用的风险。
