原恒星
原恒星就是处于“原始状态”（处于慢收缩阶段的天体）的恒星。原恒星由“大爆炸”后产生的星际云（星际云很大，直径可达上千光年）演变而来。它是在星际介质中的巨分子云收缩下出现的天体，是恒星形成过程中的早期阶段。对一个太阳质量的恒星而言，这个阶段至少持续大约100,000年。它开始于分子云核心的密度增加，结束于金牛T星的形成，然后就发展进入主序带。这个阶段由金牛T星－一种恒星风的开始宣告结束，标志着恒星从质量的吸积进入能量的辐射。
