联合国粮食及农业组织
联合国系统内最早的常设专门机构。其宗旨是提高人民的营养水平和生活标准，改进农产品的生产和分配，改善农村和农民的经济状况，促进世界经济的发展并保证人类免于饥饿。联合国专门机构之一，各成员国间讨论粮食和农业问题的国际组织。1943年5月根据美国总统F．D．罗斯福的倡议，在美国召开有44个国家参加的粮农会议，决定成立粮农组织筹委会，拟订粮农组织章程。1945年10月16日粮农组织在加拿大魁北克正式成立，1946年12月14日成为联合国专门机构。总部设在意大利罗马。截止到1991年7月1日共有157个成员国。 2014年3月11日，联合国粮食及农业组织表示，在21世纪中期之前全球粮食必须增产60%，否则将面临严重的粮食短缺，从而引发社会动荡及内战。
