甲氧西林（Methicillin），即甲氧西林钠，为耐青霉素酶青霉素，其抗菌作用方式与青霉素相仿，但不为青霉素酶水解破坏，对产青霉素酶金黄色葡萄球菌有良好作用。该品对革兰阳性菌和奈瑟菌属有抗菌活性，但对青霉素敏感的葡萄球菌、各种链球菌和脑膜炎球菌的抗菌作用不及青霉素。
