独资是外国投资者在投资国单独进行投资或购买企业，由外商独立经营。国际上利用外资的一种形式。企业的所有权和经营权全部控制在外国投资者手中。外国投资者到本国之外的其他国家投资是为了扩大商品销售市场，获得原料和廉价劳动力。但也为投资国输入了资本，引进了先进技术和管理经验，培训了熟练的技术人才，增加了就业机会。该国为外资提供场地、劳动力、原料、动力和商品供应等，扩大了商品出口。我国也已从1979年以来开办外资独资企业。
