假俭草（学名：Eremochloa ophiuroides (Munro) Hack.）是禾本科、蜈蚣草属多年生草本植物，具强壮的匍匐茎。秆斜升，高可达20厘米。叶片条形，顶端钝，无毛，顶生叶片退化。总状花序顶生，稍弓曲，压扁，第二小花两性，外稃顶端钝；花药柱头红棕色。有柄小穗退化或仅存小穗柄，披针形与总状花序轴贴生。花果期夏秋季。分布于中国江苏、浙江、安徽、湖北、湖南、福建、台湾、广东、广西、贵州等省区；生于潮湿草地及河岸、路旁。中南半岛也有分布。模式标本采自广东黄埔。该种匍匐茎强壮，蔓延力强而迅速，可作饲料或铺建草皮及保土护堤之用。（概述图参考来源：中国自然标本馆）
