"We respect the Korea Fair Trade Commission's decision, " Microsoft said in a recent statement.
But the Japan Fair Trade Commission last month closed its investigation into Microsoft, declining to pursue any charges.
In Korea, investigators from the Fair Trade Commission raided offices of Korean Air and Asiana, the country's two largest airlines.
Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission had begun an investigation after receiving a series of complaints, a spokesman told the AFP news agency.
"We'd like direct marketers to force established Japanese companies to cut premiums, " says Makoto Kurita, an official with Japan's Fair Trade Commission.
And the Fair Trade Commission is investigating allegations that Hyundai Motor colluded with affiliates to put pressure on component suppliers to cut prices.
The case follows a March ruling by the Fair Trade Commission of Japan, in which the Japanese regulator warned Intel against using its market dominance to pressure computer makers to accept its chips.
Meanwhile in South Korea, the Seoul High Court has joined the Korean Fair Trade Commission in rejecting Microsoft's request to suspend a regulatory ruling to unbundle its Windows Media Player and Instant Messaging service from Windows.
In March it agreed to a ruling by Japan's fair trade commission to settle a dispute over anticompetitive sales practices. (Intel denies any unlawful conduct.) The European Union and the Korean Fair Trade Commission are now investigating Intel on similar charges.
"Other leading competition authorities, including the Korean Fair Trade Commission, the US Department of Justice and the Canadian Competition Bureau have investigated the same facts and concluded that LG Electronics should not be held liable for the conduct of LG Philips Displays, " said John Kwon, executive vice president of LG Electronics.
But using it in the life-insurance application process would "raise questions" about whether the data would be subject to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, says Rebecca Kuehn of the Federal Trade Commission's division of privacy and identity protection.
