In 1931 American chemical engineer Samuel Kistler invented the lightest known solid--an aerogel--by drying a form of silicon dioxide (a raw material for glass) under intense pressure and high temperature.
Basic rooms are 250 square feet (23 square meters) with what the designers call a raw, industrial-chic aesthetic that includes 12-foot (3.6-meter) concrete ceilings and distressed hardwood floors.
This is a very fast camera in every respect (bar an occasional lag writing RAW files to memory) with a tack-sharp, super-fast lens, pleasingly fast autofocus, a great, bright screen, and rock-solid feeling controls that are right where your fingers need them to be.
