More turnover among the Kleiner Perkins China team has founding managing partner TinaJu leaving as one of two anchors of the preeminent firm that ventured from Silicon Valley to China in 2007.
The troubles date back to 2008, when the maverick investor Joe Zhou, who was handpicked by Doerr along with TinaJu to set up KPCB China in April 2007, left to launch his own firm, Keytone Ventures.
Former investment banker and engineer-by-training TinaJu got into China venture through co-founding VTDF in 2000 and TDF Capital in 2005, and she made several well-timed investments in some of the best China hits, Alibaba, Baidu, Focus Media and Hurray.
