I nodded to the lords and ladies whom I passed. I finished my stroll and went back to her quarters. Lunch was in half and hour. I changed into different clothes. I hated how I could not stay in one outfit for the entire day. I put on a red dress which had golden thread sewn through the hem, the elbows, the waist, and the bodice. Then I braided her hair and put a golden thread through it. After that, I made my way to the king's dining room, where the king, prime minister, the king's advisor, the army general, the army lieutenant, the king's assassin, and their families ate. All of the other lords and ladies who lived in the palace ate in a separate dining room. Lance was off of his duty at that time also and another one of the king's guards took his place. I found my father already seated at the long table. I took a seat beside him. He was talking to Lance's father, the lieutenant, who was seated across from him. Lance was sitting across from me and his mother was sitting on the other side of his father. Lance's guard uniform had been replaced with a white tunic, brown jacket, and brown breeches. He was tapping his foot underneath the table, which made the table shake. I kicked his shin. He winced.
