We as a party, as the Conservative Party, have a right to say the government is inacompletemess on asylum, they have been for a long time, figures have gone up, they've got much worse under them, that chaos actually effects people's lives and we say there's a better way.
Mr Paterson said he was a strong supporter of the military in Northern Ireland, but the government had inherited a"complete mess" from Labour and "sadly" very difficult decisions had to be made.
